These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the arlo mobile application and website at followarlo.com, operated by arlo ("we", "us", "our"). By using arlo, you agree to these Terms.
You must be at least 15 years old to use arlo. If the law of your country sets a lower digital consent age, you must be at least 13 and have parental consent to use arlo. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account or let others access it. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
arlo connects buyers with local artists and makers, and gives artists a place to organize and publish their own events. You agree to:
If you list products, services, or events on arlo, you agree to:
All content you post on arlo (listings, images, messages) must:
You can report a piece, an event, an artist, a message, or the person you are messaging, from the screen that content is on. Every report reaches a moderation inbox we monitor, and we review them as quickly as we can.
In Messages you can mute or block anyone you are talking to. Muting stops their messages from notifying you; blocking stops them from messaging you at all. The people you have blocked are listed in Profile > Privacy & security > Blocked users, and you can unblock them there.
Artists can also turn off "Allow messages from anyone" in Profile > Privacy & security. With it off, only people they have already exchanged messages with can start a conversation with them.
Screening is partly automated. An image-classification model checks images before they appear: it can refuse an upload — you are told at the time if that happens — or flag it for a person to look at. Media served through our content delivery network is also matched against known-illegal-image hash lists; content matched as known child sexual abuse material is preserved and reported onward, as the law requires. Our Privacy Policy describes this processing in full. Automated screening never suspends an account on its own — anything that affects your account is decided by a person.
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these policies and to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate them. What we do is proportionate to what was posted and to whether it has happened before: it ranges from removing a single piece of content to suspending or closing an account.
Every one of those decisions is made by a person, and we record the reason for it. If you believe we got a decision wrong, write to support@followarlo.com and we will look at it again — a removal made in error can be reversed.
arlo facilitates connections between buyers and sellers. We are not a party to any transaction between users. Buyers and sellers are solely responsible for the terms, fulfillment, and quality of their transactions.
Artists organize and publish their own events on arlo — markets, exhibitions, workshops, open studios. The organizer alone is responsible for the event: for it taking place as described, and for everything that happens on the day. We do not verify venues, insurance, or safety arrangements, and we are not a party to any event listed on arlo.
Marking yourself "Interested" or "Going" tells the organizer you may come. An RSVP is not a ticket, not a contract, and not a guarantee of entry: the organizer decides who gets in, and may limit numbers, change the plan, or cancel. We do not sell tickets or collect entry fees — anything you pay to attend is arranged with the organizer, outside arlo.
Some events are open for any artist to join; others ask artists to request a place, which the organizer approves or declines. An approval creates an arrangement between the organizer and the exhibitor — what a space costs, what each side brings, and when to arrive are for the two of them to agree. arlo is not a party to that arrangement and does not enforce it. Being listed as exhibiting at an event you did not organize does not make you its organizer.
You retain ownership of the content you create and post on arlo. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content within the arlo platform.
The arlo name, logo, and app design are our intellectual property and may not be used without our written permission.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, arlo and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from:
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to arlo in the 12 months preceding the claim, or EUR 100, whichever is greater.
arlo is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not guarantee the accuracy of listings, the quality of products, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
If you have a dispute with another user, we encourage you to resolve it directly. You may contact us at support@followarlo.com for assistance, but we are not obligated to mediate disputes.
Any dispute between you and arlo shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, either party may pursue resolution through the courts of Portugal, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Where applicable, EU consumer protection laws will apply.
